2006 allroad 3lt, all was ok, I fill up with diesel, i drive from forecourt to main car park of asda, i go shopping and im back in the car within 5 mins, off i go and radio stops for a second then comes back on, this does this on all stations and now wont let me play a cd so im ruling out signal issue, its as if the power is being turned on and off.

So i think go home switch it all off and try again after ten mins, but now a further clue has presented itself, at the same intervals of loss of sound I notice the door/footwell lights (LED) go on and off?

    So any ideas chaps (&chapessess)?

    Im scared?!

    Matt

In the boot, does the carpet and the area that holds the hifi equipment look wet? Also, is the passenger foot well wet at all?

If not, you need to get the car scanned. It could be anything.

    Thanks for the reply Josh,

I have just popped out in daylight to check, no dampness or wet in the boot, or in the compartment where the sat nav drive is, nor in the footwell, all carpets dry as well.

How much is a plug in scan, do you think?

    Matt

    Couple of things then.

Are you sure there is nothing in your glove box pressing on the CD Player? Try again after completely emptying your glovebox
Can you press and access all of the functions on the MMI control panel? If not, have you spilt any liquid on the MMI?

Are you confident that this is not a battery issue? Forget the MMI battery meter display, can you get a voltmeter across your battery and test the voltage with the engine off and then with it running?

In terms of a scan, it worth asking members here if they could do it for you. If you were in Berkshire, I could scan you for free!

Thanks again Josh, over the weekend I will get the battery checked MMI says its 100%. No drinks or moisture have been in cabin so MMI not wet/spilt over. Will check glove box contents.
As far as other functions, Car set up works fine as does Sat Nav, but phone (I phone3) doesnt now register on MMI and also cd player doesnt work. Also last night door LED's flash in tandem with radio in/outage but this morning no flashing door lights?

Where are you in berkshire our head office is in Wimbledon and Im there in a few weeks, might be worth me coming over to you?

    thanks again

    Matt

PS will also repost asking of anyone in my area with scan facilities
