Alarm problem HELP!!!!!

Hi

I have a 2003 A4 Avant 1.9 TDi and the alarm won't stop going off. It started going off today but won't stop even if I unlock the car. I have to drive it for about a mile before it stops.

I have tried disabling the interior sensor and the tilt sensor but it still goes off.

I have noticed that the indicators do not flash when the alarm sounds. The alarm is an intermittent loud beep that seems to be coming from the compartment in the boot (where the stereo amplifier is).

Seems very strange to me that I can't stop the alarm even when the car is unlocked?

What can I do to stop the alarm sounding until I get it fixed?

I have exactly the same thing , started this evening, did you ever get to the bottom of it,Gona pull my hair out if this keep on tonight

It's probably the internal battery on the alarm siren. If the battery has leaked it will probably mean a new siren. You'll have to cut the siren unit open to find out. I have seen instructions on a modification to replace the battery. Google it.
It may be good to scan the car first for DTC's in case it isn't the siren.
A new siren is about £90
