    Default Simple question – 15-01-2012,11:44 PM
    Last August (2011) I bought a new Jetta, being of the understanding that it was a 2011 model.
    Subsequently I was told 'It is a 2012 model, you know'.

    Can someone tell me how to determine just what is the exact date of this vehicle? Is it actually the tenth digitof the VIN ?

    The digit you are looking for is the 10th as you suggest. If the car was built in 2011 then the digit code will be B, if 2012 then it is C.
