    Afternoon all,

My front wings are rusting around the arches and rather than repair I may have the option of replacing them from a pair off a donor car.

The front wings are bolted on but are they also welded anywhere? Or are they glued on as well as bolted?
    Are they easy to remove?

    Thanks

Rusty wings on an Audi thats bad as I thought the cars were zinc coated, have you tried putting in a claim with Audi, My fathers A6 is a 1994 car and it is still rust free, mine is a 1995 and still rust free, I thought that they had at least a 12 year rust guarantee.

    Hi Vince,

One of the main reasons I bought the car was because they are galvanised. Unfortunately it looks like I've been unlucky with the front wings. The handbook states 10 years warranty on bodywork, the car is now almost 14 years old so I can't complain too much. Although it would have been nice if they had lasted longer...

I did think about that but there's no signs of them being replaced. Paint is an exact match for the rest of the car in all lights. Panel line up is pot on, no obvious marks anywhere.

It might have but it certainly doesnlt look like it. I think I've just been unlucky, the rust started from the edge of the inside arch. Car was bought in Scotland and has spent it's life here and we do get a pretty huge amount of salt on our roads.

I guess build quality is not a good on modern Audi's. As the old ones never have rust issues
