    Hi all,

Looking on the interweb, it seems that replacing the ATF fluid may well help. I have used, in the past, a 'seal conditioner' solution (in the power steering) made by: Forte. Does anyone have any thoughts on using that during the fluid replacement process?

Does the ATF fluid have to be Audi, or is there a lower priced alternative (I was told £31 per litre, with 6 being required).

I looked around and found used torque converters for about the price of a manual clutch, does anyone have any thoughts on the cost of fitting?

    Cheers,
    Jt

I have used a product made by Forte in the past to help with a slightly groany PAS, and that soon sorted it out, I can see Forte also offer an ATF product, would this be a viable option? I appreciate ultimately, i'll have to replace the TC, but as an interim fix?

Never tried it in a gearbox but I only use Forte stuff now, Fixed everything I have had a problem with in the past. I would try it and see how you get on.
