Help with tyre sizes

Hi all
Needing some help with choosing a tyre size for some alloys iv bought. Iv have been assured that 225/40 will fit but when they got delivered i measured them up against my standard vRS alloys which are 225 40 and the new alloy towered over them (even with the vRS alloys having tyres on)

The measurements for the new alloys are 18x8 ET45, i dont really want to go for 235's as they cost about £30 more per corner and i dont want to paying that when i wanted to stick to 225's

Confusing Info! Have you got a larger Diameter Wheel than before

A 225 tyre will accomodate an 8J??

Have a search for a tyre calculator, might Help? cause you want to stick within rolling radius limits.

Put it this way then, the wheels to the right are my standard vRS one which have 225/40 18 tyres on and apparently the alloys to the left will fit the same tyres..they look alot wider!

Have a look on the inside of ALL! the wheels it should have the info regarding Pt No, ET, Diameter and width embossed on the spokes! That should give you accurate comparisom.

The new ones look wider for certain!!
