I did try to reply to my previous thread but after writing an essay and pressing the REPLY button all gone and nothing posted , anyway a bit about my car .

Diesel lift pump went while I was at junction on the 13th of dec, took it to a garage got it fixed, all happy. On the way home I noticed the car ran a bit ruff , a bit like the DPF needs regenerating . I put that down to the garage leaving it idle for too long or maybe something to do with me trying to start it for 2 hrs when it broke down, I done what I always do in this situations , 1 full tank of tescos finest , 1 bottle of the diesel treatment and a 30 minute drive on the mway, sadly didnt work.

Now im noticing a few things , car needs revving to get it going , the dpf light hasnt come on at all, mpg is slightly lower but the worstthing is that car feels rubbish to drive. Search on the internet revealed an EGR Valve, am I even close ?

Im actually thinking of cleaning the valve tomorrow, is there anything I should know ?

Now that im here might as well ask the following question, would a dpf and egr removal be something stupid, better mpg , more responsive engine and not worrying about DPF all the time seems like a no brainer, is there anything Im missing? I understand that the MOT might change in the future, that is the least of my worries

    Happy new year

The car is on 94k on 08 plate , BMR engine

I don't have a VAGCOM and my dealer wanted something like 70 odd quid for a diagnostic. Any VAG specialist in and around S London worth seeing, willing to travel a bit if necessary ?
