VW Ipod Adapter... ipod compatibility...

Hi,

I've had an original VW ipod adapter fitted to the MFD2 for a few weeks now, and am now quite tired of having to plug in and remove my iphone every time I jump in the car.

Instead, I am after a used old ipod (it will not charge the newer ipods and iphones) and wondered if anyone knew how far I could go back?

Size is not an issue (1gb/2gb is fine), what is important is that it will charge (so it can stay hidden for weeks).

The old bulky ipod Mini is out there for not very much money - will this charge OK?

In my old Touran with MFD2 with ipod kit I purchased a 12v to 5v ipod adapter off ebay and it worked well with the newer generation of ipods and iphone, so for a few quid it would give you more choice on the type of ipod you can use, otherwise I think that you are looking at generation 1 & 2 ipods only
