    All,
Wonder if anyone can help shed some light on my fault with my A3 2004 2.0 (2004) tdi. I've had the car 6 months and touch wood its been issue free, now done 96k miles.

A engine warning light appeared last week, albeit I've not suffered any power loss, mpg reduction or abnormal temperatures. I connected the diagnostic tool and it reported one fault, 17903. I've not had much success finding what the fault is other than a German blog which discussed it was :-

17903 - Switch-Over Valve for EGR Cooler (N345): Open or Short to Ground

It also mentioned replacing the glow plugs and fuse number 34 although I believe it was specifically for a Passatt (unsure of year)

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm stuck where to go.

Hope all had a great Xmas and new year.

    Cheers,

    Mike

    Hi Crasher,
Thanks for the quick reply. I used a U281 OBD-2 CAN-BUS CODE SCANNER for VW/AUDI/SEAT/SKODA CAR - only just bought it when the fault appeared. It showed up 17902 only.

I believe the engine type is BKD, it's a 2.0 tdi 140BHP and the cars on an '04' plate.

Sorry typo, the fault code is just 17903. Given the code is not appearing on your listing is this something to be worried about?

Anyone think a phone call to Audi dealership would help?
