    Hi.

Please can you give some advice?

3.0 diesel has just started putting the glow plug light on together with traction control light and the screen says ESP fault, consult owners manual. When these lights are on, the engine seems to be in a limp mode as very sluggish and slow to rev.

Having had a brief search, there seems to be mention of a control unit failure, costing roughy £1500 to replace. Can this be true form a 5 year old Audi with 65k miles on it?

I haven't got any fault codes yet to help with more precise diagnosis. Is this the start of potential financial doom just after Christmas?

Thanks for reading this far and any advice you may be able to share.

    It could something simple.
Check your brake lights are working.
Look in the vagcom section to see if there is a member in your area who can scan the car for faults.

    Strange one.

Started the car this morning and no fault lights. Brake lights work too.
    Seems to have fixed itself.

Is any of your carpet wet in the car?

You would really need a scan to see whats going on

I must panic too quickly! Took the car into local garage, only 2 fault codes appeared, glow plug on pot 4 had a mishap at some point and throttle pedal out of "sync", or words to that effect. Never missed a beat since.
