    Hi all I bought a 1999 Audi A6 1.8T recently and I have a problem with the following;

    When I switch on the ignition the red Stop light (or possibly a brake warning lamp) flashes and continues to flash whilst driving.. Also the ABS light stays on and there is a series of 5 or 6 beeps..

    I have an unregistered version of VCDS Lite (I am new to VCDS) and have looked for DTC's in relation to the ABS controller but it is showing NO FAULTS..

    Any ideas please??

    It must have a fault stored, most likely as Adams says, damaged ABS circuit board, about as common as night following day.

    Thanks for the replies guys........

    @yaman Fluid level is perfect

    @adamss24 Yes its begining to look like the abs module is toast

    @crasher No faults stored at all (which leads me to believe the abs module is not recording faults as its broken)

    I've seen threads about having the abs controller re-furbed, however I live very close to 3 breakers yards... Can get an abs controller from a similar car and fit it to mine??

    Humm, a faulty ABS ECU won't allow comms at all in my experience, unplug the warning plug on the fluid bottle and bridge the contacts.
