    Hi all,
I have a 2007 105BHP Passat B6 and have an odd clutch issue with it. When you start the car in the morning the clutch pedal has dropped down about half way and the bite point is virtually on the floor but after a couple of miles it gradually comes back up to the top which is where is normally is. Obviously the piston below the pedal has dropped for this to happen but not sure why? I know its a hydraulic clutch and read somewhere that it gets it fluid from the brake reservior but this level hasn't dropped. My dual mass flywheel is on its way out but I've never experienced this before when they go. Any takers? Cheers!

There is a fair chance that the friction plate is very worn, so the slave cylinder has to move a long way. You may even find the pedal going to the floor and refusing to come back upuntil you pull it with your toe.

Thats a good idea. The car is on 110,000 miles with original clutch I think so could be a possibilty. It's weird how it only does it some of the time but it is getting worse. I feel a new clutch/DMF on its way

Well, had the clutch/flywheel changed today and it was knackered but the odd pedal travel seemed to be down to a leaky salve cylinder. When they came to bleed the clutch it wouldn't do it as it was sucking in air. All changed and problems now solved. Thanks again for everyones help. Hope this helps someone one day.

I paid £400 on Ebay for the Sachs Clutch/flywheel and it was fitted for me along with a slave cylinder for £350. Think the slave cylinder was £50.
