  1. Battery flat can't open passenger doors

    Hi Guys

I have a passat SE TDI 1.9 diesel 2003 saloon. last week I had a battery too flat to start the car due to lack of use. Charged battery and did did two trips of 96 miles all OK but return was at night with headlights on.
A week later battery too flat to start car and indicator lights kept flashing. Now I can't open any of the passenger doors. Drivers door opens with fob button (just) but other doors shut tight even with trying to open them from inside car.
Tried piggy back battery but no luck, did not want to try jump starting car from wifes little battery.
Have lifted passenger front well carpet and that is dry (had that problem last year). Can't seem to lift drivers carpet to check that as is round all the pedals. Have disconnected battery and charging that at present.
    Any suggestions/help appreciated.

If your battery is totally flat it is better to disconnect it and connect the piggyback battery jumper cables staraight to your battery cables. That way your flat battery is not sucking up the juice from the piggyback battery. Do it so the terminals can be dropped back onto your battery as soon as it starts. Never disconnect any of the battery cables completely, whilst the engine is running. The alternator doesn't like that.

doors should open with 2 quick fob presses once the battery is fully charged , the central locking seems to lose its memory and needs a reboot from time to time .
