Yes – don’t get an induction kit, buy an upgraded non-oil panel filter (Pipercross) and don’t get an atmospheric DV (i.e. the whooshy noises one) but a recirculation one that keeps the pressure in the system. Atmospheric DV’s are for boy-racers and mega horse-powered skylines etc that will blow their engines up if it didn’t dump the pressure. As far as I know on a relatively ‘low’ powered turbo car as the S3 you would actually loose a bit of power with an atmospheric DV.

That’s a good increase for an S3/TT, they’re normally around 265 with a re-map. The car will be sucking in so much air now that it’ll definitely be worth sticking an uprated non-oiled panel filter in (I’ve always used Pipercross).

Green is a very good make, used on loads of rally cars. That’s probably where you are getting the extra bhp from. Are you using 99 Ron fuel, such as Shell V-Power or whatever the BP stuff is called?

Good stuff, Turbo cars really love 99Ron petrol and as Jabasport have done, the ignition and boost can be advanced higher to take account of it, hence the big bhp increase.

Had a MK4 GTI and then a MK5 GTI and had them both re-mapped to account for the higher Ron petrol, the MK5 went from 200bhp to circa 270bhp with just a panel filter and a re-map set to use only 99Ron.

Sadly with my 3.2 the gains aren’t that high, have had a re-map and a Pipercross panel filter put in and using 99Ron its increased it from 247 to circa 280bhp. Not bad, but not the sort of increase you’ve had on your S3 or my old GTI.

Cant help regarding rolling roads, I used to take the GTI’s to AMD in Bicester near Oxford, they really knew their stuff and had a top rolling road.

Big Boys Toys at Lakeside (Thurrock) just the other side of the Thames to you actually bought AMD a while back and are due to re-site AMD near by, but for the time being don’t have a rolling road. Therefore like for instance when I had my 3.2 re-mapped at BBT a couple of weeks ago I/you just have to rely on their word for power quotes.
