    Hi everyone,
I would like to start off by saying a MASSIVE thank-you to Yousf at HID Flash for his expert help & advice.

Date of Install: Sunday 28th February 2010
    Location: Preston, Lancashire
    Car: Audi A4 B7 2.0 TDi SE 140 BHP - 6 Speed
    Kit Tested
    Side Lights: "Extreme White" 501
    Dipped Beam: 8000k H7
    Main Beam: 8000k H7
    Fog Lights: 6000k H11

To start with I was expecting to find HID Flash supplying the generic kits that you find others supplying however I was pleasantly suppressed that they use their very own kits.

I was happy with HID Flash's excellent level of customer service and professionalism. Yousf is a young, keen and very friendly person who has all the necessary tools and kit to carry out a professional install. The kit's are installed in such a way where all the Ballast's are hidden as much as possible as there are no messy wires running around under the hood.

With Flash HID they believe that "We are happy if our customer is happy" and it is this attitude that sets them apart from the rest.

    Thanks Yousf!

Great little write up, Car looks great!!

I have fitted a few different kits on mine in the past (as you may of seen),

What made you go for the 8000k rather than 6000k or even 4300k?

Currently I have got 2 pairs of HID's runnings, both 6000k in the dipped and full beam,

I have also got another kit minus 12 ballast which I was going to kit to the fogs but never got around to it..

I also have a spare set of 4300k bulbs which Im going to fit one day! (I have never ran 4300K and fancied seeing the different with light output, ) Always ran 6000k,

    Cheers

    Rick

    Hi Rick,

Fitting the 8000k was just a bit of a test really.
I think it is important to see what they look like in the dark once your behind the wheel to determine what colour to go for.

I've had a play about with different bulb colours now, like you I have changed the main & dipped to 6000k. The colour look pure white with a tint of blue rather than that overpowering blue. There is also quite a bit more visibility with the 6000k compared to the 8000k especially on the main beam. It just looks overall more classy.
I have also tried the 4300k bulbs however behind the wheel the colour temperature looks a bit weird, they were designed to match OEM bulbs but I think the 6000k are a more likely match. The 4300k look a little yellow like halogen bulbs but with a stronger tint of white.

Don't talk to me about fog light bulbs, they are a right pain to change in my B7. You either have to take the whole front bumper off or do a lot of gutting underneath the car. I will get these changed eventually again, my cam belt is due soon so will get it done at the same time when the front of the car is already off.

I have also changed the sidelight bulbs for LED ones... I have a day off today so will try and get a new picture with the 6000k's.

They were working 100% but now one of them flickers and then shuts down then I get an error... Maybe it's just my car so lots of the guys have fitted them to their B7.

I got these ones from eBay
Thanks to irishejit on this thread

I will prob change back to Phillips 501 BlueVision for these.

A lot of people go for the 4300k for the OEM look... They do look good and they are the brightest. I found the 6000k not to be much dimmer however massive difference with the 8000k.

I gues it's just personal prefrence at the end of the day.

The error you get, is it connected to the ABS.
