    I have an 1.8T sporty A3 hatch registered 2001
Please can you tell me if it should have one or two rear fog lights.

    background:
The passenger side fitting has the contact broken off but all terminals to rear cluster bulb holders have wires including one to the broken fog lamp.
Tried replacing it with full cluster and fog does not work.

(I have two reversing lights - thought it would be 1 reversing light and 1 fog
    or 2 of each.)

Can't find any specs for the model's fog lights anywhere.

    many thanks

I've an Apr 01 TDI A3 SE. Just the one fog lamp works on mine. Yes the passenger side "appears" to be wired, but a small plastic blank is fitted instead of a bulb holder. Construction and use regs probably only state 1 is required for UK.

It was the same on a Honda Civic I had, all wired up, but just Drivers side operating.

    Hope that helps?

One fog light is standard, i made the same mistake when i got my A4. you can cut the blank out and fit 2 if you wish, but probably not worth the hassle.
