About a week ago, the yellow "min" symbol with the picture of the oil can started appearing. I checked the oil and it was low, so i have filled it up to just below max. However, the "min oil" symbol is still appearing on every start-up.

Just today, while driving, i also got a big red ((!)) symbol just below this. It stayed for a few seconds (with no noticable change in car performance) and then stopped.

Is the red warning perhaps about the same thing; e.g. "Your oil is low, stop ignoring me!", or is it definitely a different problem?

And why does it refuse to acknowledge that i have filled the oil up?

    Thanks.

if there is oil in it and we you are only getting the yellow oil can symbolThe min oil level error can be a faulty oil level sensor in the sump or also a faulty bonnet switch. Does the bonnet open show in the dash when its open?
As mikey the red warning sounds like a brake Warning symbol if it shows only when cranking the engine it can be low power in your battery also.

    Regards
    Andy
