Gonna nip it off in the morning... my guess is that its become one with the car and i didnt notice... still doesnt explain the low signal from a recon throttle body... spending too much money on this car! Garage's advise was "trade it in".. yeah thanks for that!

Yeah your right... it was what i suspected... it had become stuck to the manifold... ordered a new one. Still doubtfull it will fix my problems.... been reading up on temp senders causing power issues?! mine kills them off every 6-12 months... auto electrician says that all the values are within the ranges so god knows what the problem is with it...

Fault: Hunting idle, slow to return to idle, hesiation when coming off throttle just before 2k revs. Drives fine when "gunning it". Temp sensors seem to die every 6-12months. Throttle Body signal too low when on absolute full throttle (bodged by slackening off throttle cable stops dtc occuring as throttle doesnt open quite as far)

Already Done: Replaced MAF,Replace TB with recon unit and had it adapted twice, auto electrician said all values are normal from sensors but replaced an earth strap on 5v sensor cct "just incase". Replaced Coolant Temp sensor. Cambelt changed 6 months along with full service.

i take it there are no fault codes stored?have you checked for unmetered air?do you have diagnostic equipment?

thats my theory hence the new gasket... if that fails to fix it then im going to get it smoke tested... if that fails then i have no idea! The only DTC stored is the throttle body signal too low but i sorted that out by not letting the throttle open as much as it was. It was reading 0.02v on full throttle and the dtc comes in at 0.04v adjusted the throttle so full throttle reads at 1v. vagcom still sees this as full throttle just means i loose a tiny little bit of top end performance as its not quiet as full.
