    Can anyone help?

When set on intermittent, my wipers seem to go to full speed when it's hardly raining or not wipe at all. I seem to be constantly adjusting the wiper frequency to keep the windscreen clear, I hate having the wipers on and much prefer intermittent but the sensors kick in and go stupid.

I am wondering if the recent replacement windscreen might have upset the sensor - has anyone else come across this?

Mine does the same thing and I hav'nt had the windscreen replaced :0( As you say they seem to work ok for a short while and then they go flat out and adjusting the frequency/sensitivity seems to have no effect.
I assumed my sensor was faulty.

That definitely doesn't sound right! Mine hasn't done this on either of the 4fs I have had. I would imagine the windscreen replacement might be the cause, but you would need to get the car checked I think.

    Cheers!

i have had this a few times too but it sorted itself out really. Used to get very fast even with very little rain. It is annoying but i havent seen it happen for more than a month now.

    See here :-

I made an adjustement on my DRL's with VCDS which also made a difference to the rain sensivity.

Thanks - but don't you find even in manual mode they still go flat out when they think its raining hard (even when it isn't as you say)?

Had this sort of thing with mine for ages, then got the sensor replaced under warranty. Same sensor for lights and wipers?
