I can smell exhaust fumes when I first get in my car (before starting) and then the odd time when I'm driving. Had the cambelt changed 2 days ago by VW, have they forgotten to re-connect something? Can't remember it being this bad before the work was done. When I first get in it's more noticeable, probably before I get used to it I guess. Cheers guys.

more than likely it is to do with the belt change, it could be the exhaust flexy part has a slight leak, as the belt has been changed and the o/s mount has to be removed the engine would need to be jacked/lefted up and this COULD strain the flex joint, it could also be a fuel leak (if diesel) hope this is of help mate

The only thing I can think of is the cam cover breather.
