If I was to go for a Audi A4 2.0 Tdi 140/170 S-Line - would it be a goodidea to get a front splitter and anti-role bar to go in the engine area? Theseare relatively low cost upgrades but I remember the episode of Top Gear whenthey did their 24hr race in the BMW and they used the front splitter, whichwhen it came off significantly affected their lap times and handling.

Where can I buy a front splitter for a B7 Audi A4 for a S-line as that is mymodel for consideration - also is it worth fitting a front anti role bar aswell - does anyone have any good links?

Is the suspension on the S-Line good enough for these upgrades - I know theS-line has 18 inch wheels - would it be worth putting the RS4 wheels on anS-line model? Can that also improve the handling?

The reason the BMW noticed the difference is because it probably had 2 or 3 times the power your car has and probably travelling at speeds inexcess of 100mph where the aerodynamics make a significant difference.
On a road car you won't notice anything.....unless you're driving on the motorway at licence losing speeds.
It might look better but it'll make no difference to your handling.

As for the front anti roll bar.....not sure but I've read many members on various forums (fora??) say that changing the rear anti roll bar for the RS4 version makes a huge difference.

Personally, I'd forget the front splitter unless you want it for looks. If you want to upgrade then the rear anti roll bar seems to be a good choice.

Like Darich said, a splitter will make no difference whatsoever to a road car's handling. They only make a difference in race conditions. As for anti-roll bars, your A4 already has them, front and back, If you want to improve the handling, again as Darich says, upgrade the rear bar, not the front.

+1 on the ineffectiveness of a splitter except on a track, and yeah, put the anti-roll bar at the back... but I doubt you'll notice much difference unless you habitually don't slow down for roundabouts

In any case, I'm not convinced that the Cupra splitter that's such a popular retrofit does anything aerodynamically except mess up the airflow under the front of the air dam that's already there. Why mess with the millions of euros' worth of windtunnel R&D that's gone into the shape of the front of the car? It's the way it is for a reason. If it needed an extra bit of black plastic down there Audi would've taken care of it. As for the looks, well that's a personal thing - whatever floats your boat

Without doubt the RS4 RARB is the best bang for your buck mod.
x2 The front splitter absolutely makes zero difference to handling, for our road going cars it's purely aesthetics nothing more. Removed mine, it just didn't look right imho.

Research B7 modding, some people have done some great mods, making the cars look awesome.
