It will be the servo internal corrosion get it checked over NOW you might not be so lucky next time and it will happen again.

My bets are on the plenum chamber rubber drain grommets being blocked with debris and causing the plenum chamber to flood with rain water during heavy rain. the water then gets inside the servo and causes it to rust internally.

The drains are under the battery and under the servo, poke something through them to remove the blockage, or totally remove the grommets.

This job needs doing asap the last thing you need is no brakes!! P.s i have heard of a few warranty claims for this work, might be worth a go.

I had this exact problem, it was blocked drains in the plenum chamber, a problem that was supposed to be sorted on a recall. The water was high enough to get into the brake servo unit and knackered it, leaving the brakes with no assistance, like there was a brick between the pedal and he floor. Went to Audi and shared my safety concerns with them, they sorted the drains and replaced the brake servo free of charge, must have been 4 or £500 worth of work, which was nice! The fact is that it is a serious safety issue, caused by a fault known to Audi, which should have been sorted already. Try your luck at a couple of dealerships, worth a try.

I had the same issue a few weeks ago and it turned out to be a vacume hose with a big hole in. New hose on and brakes are spot on now.
