    Audi Coupe 1995, 2 litre 16v
Between 4-6 months ago, I fitted a new battery as the original one was knackered. Just recently, I had to fit a replacement sunroof/interior light panel as the original one fell out and wouldn't go back. I appreciate I don't use the car much but the battery seems to be flat all the time. After jumping the battery, I took the car for a spin the other day, for about 30 minutes or so and the next day it started fine. The day after that though the battery is dead again but I have noticed that even without the key in the ignition, the sunroof will open (albeit very slowly) so there is just enough power in the battery to do that. However, I don't think the sunroof should work with no ignition key and any thoughts on why (because since putting in a replacement sunroof/interior light panel) the battery appears to be flat very quickly.

I might consider removing the interior light bulb just in case despite being off, power is going to it and draining the battery.

Last Wednesday 16th, The car wouldn't even start via jump leads now so christ knows what is going on although that might be down to dodgy jump leads. Seemed like the power from the donor battery is not getting through.

On a seperate, but related note, and once the car is running again, is there any simple way of checking the battery is holding it's charge ? When the car is running, the amp meter in the dash shows just over 13v or there abouts so it is charging when running according to that, but the battery doesn't stay charged as I am experiencing now !

Car started ok on this Saturday after a jump start. I took it for a spin, about 6 miles and the amp meter on the dash was reading 13v constantly. Sunday, it started fine and again, 13v showing. Today, dead again !!!!!!!!!!!

Windows, sunroof etc do not function as presumably not enough juice in the battery now.

Why not try disconnecting the battery earth lead when not being used. If battery power stays up,then disconnect the connector from
the interior light/sunroof switch. after this try the relay for fault.
