    Hi,

Not had B6 (S model) estate long but the tailgate release does not work. It does not work from the remote either. It works fine from the tailgate handle.

    Is this a common fault?

    Any recs on diagnosis?

I am not mega tech minded.

    thanks

    Hi,

If you expect the tailgate to swing open when using the key fob or drivers door switch it doesnt. They just unlock the tailgate. It does on the saloon variant. I would imagine its a saftey thing or the tailgate is just to heavy to do it without having a dedicated motor.

I ran into this when I first got my estate. Hope this helps.

    Hi AP,

I know what you mean but the driver's door switch to unlock/open the tailgate does not work. I wasn't expecting the 'powered tailgate' like this one (wish I could, but I can't)

if you can open it from under the tailgate then surely the remote or switch must be working?

This has been raised before on here. Worth doing a search.

It's an all in one mechanism so you probably need a new lock mechanism.
