Hi anyone imrpoved the 105bhp to ~140bhp.

Not looking for best 0-60 time, just better pull from low revs and hopefully better economy (slightly!)

    Does the drivetrain cope fine?

    thanks

Its easy to achieve that from mapping these engines and in some cases 150bhp can be made from an eco tune which improves not only the power but also the fuel consumption. If you would like to see any dyno graphs let me know.

Also just for info, if you don't fancy the drive down to us then we do have a dealer in your area.

That's a load of bull crap mate, the kp39 is allready on the edge of surge regime and the only way it will see 150 bhp is only for a few hours befor the turbo will break the shaft and take the engine with it ! I would be vary of bold claims like that, the 105 bhp also have a weaker bottom end compared with the early 130 Bhp engines + the clutch cannot cope with more than 300Nm for too long before the DMF fails. 130-135 is the safest maximum upgrade, claiming 60% increase is just daft unless the DINO is adjusted to show big numbers as well ! Only in uk...

I have mapped many of these engines over the years with no problems, however as I write my own software if there appears to be any concerns then I adjust the map accordingly.

With regards to the dyno I don't need to adjust the figures as we always map on a car by car basis and if a car does not achieve big power then I am not overly concerned as it is all about how the car drives anyway and the dyno is just there to aid with writing the software and give confidence to the customer.

I have bought a b5 rs4 (a few years ago) with melted pistons and chipped valves which had new heads fitted 1 year before, bad map and crap fuel = blown engine ! I get to work on loads of cars and most failures are from "custom" remaps who ask for too high sustained boost at low rpm's which in turn result in boost "creep" with free flow exhausts- especially as every tunner recomends a decat on PD engines ! The newer engines are not designed with compromise in mind as the older ones used to be and i have seen bent rods on the 1.6 Tdi engine from just a remap ! New cars are very disposable and many wont reach 100k without major surgery ! I am not slating your knowledge but i wish to take one of them cars (with agresive maps on them) for a steady 120 mph on autobahn just to see how far EGT raise...
