As title. Or, did the CRD only appear in the B8?

I've never seen a B7 fitted with CRD.... only B8 onwards.

B8 only. Never fitted to any B7 models.

Okay. As I thought. I really like the CRD engine but I'm not prepared to shell out more than £10K, so even an early B8 would be miles past that sum. The option, however, is an Exeo. It has the CRD engine, and to all intents is a B7 - with the convertible dash, which is very classy. One of these is pick-upable at my budget so, that's the next project - find a good example with a full spec.
    Thanks for the inputs.
BTW? Has anyone got hands-on knowledge of the Exeo? I've been for a test drive and I'm very impressed. But, are there any issues I should know about?

I want the CRD engine. The B7 doesn't have this engine. So, residual B7 comparisons are irrelevant.
Now, if you had said Audi B8-v- Exeo residuals, then you'd be spot-on. No doubt about that. However, the price premium for same age/mileage might make any comparison yet again irrelevant.

Passat just doesn't appeal. But an Octavia might just be of interest. Wasn't aware the Octy had the CRD engine. Do you know which model/s?

All of them now use common rail engines. I think they started to change over around 2008 (ish)
