    I hope you haven't cross-threaded... I searched all the way through my collection of bolts and whislt I found bolts of the right diameter, I couldn't find anythign with a matching thread.

    It's such a ball ache isn't it! I lost my bolt at 2am, so going to the shops wasn't an option.. cost me so much time

    No I don't think I have. Took the other bolt with me and it went nice and smoothly into the nut that came with the other shop-bought bolt. Also went into the block no hassle. Still a general ball-ache though. Mine went behind and into (what I think is) the engine mount

    Yes, mine ended up somewhere in the engine mount.

    Unfortunately it was the middle of the night when I did mine (before a big trip) and it took me about 2 hours to find the bolt and fish it out with a rare-earth magnet on the end of a kebab skewer!

    LOL... you could almost put a photo of that next to "Amateur Mechanic" in the dictionary!
