I was looking for a local mechanic to help me, but today I have found the problem with my car. Thanks all!

I payed a so called Audi specialist in my hometown to diagnose my car and tell me why it was chugging out tons of black smoke and losing power.

He told me that the airmass meter and temperature control sensor were faulty, he also said that the turbo had a lag on it. I replaced the airmass meter and the temperature sensor but this made no difference. I guessed that I was going need a new turbo and decided that it was time to scrap the car as it also needs £400 spending on the suspension for the mot.

Anyways.... today I took a good look over the car myself to see how hard it would be for me to fit a turbo myself. While looking I noticed a split in the hose that connects the intercooler pipe to the top of the manifold. I poked my finger inside the alloy manifold and broke off a large peice of carbon the size of a brussel sprout.

I fitted a new peice of hose and then revved the hell out of the engine for 2 minutes which cleared loads of crap out of it. Then I took her for a test drive and the it runs perfectly again now.

I am so happy I could dance! I will get the other work done now and keep this great car where it should be......on the road.

I most definitely won't be taking my car back to that so called specialist again!
