2000 vw passat 2.5 v6 tdi not starting no lights on dash

Hi hope someone can help i have a W reg 2000 vw passat 2.5 v6 tdi which wont start. Was driving the car and turned it off to go to the shop for 5 mins came back and nothing when you turn the ignition on no lights at all come on the dash.

When i turn the key the engine is turning over but it will not start.

I have checked the fuses near the side or the door but they all seem fine can someone tell me where all the other fuse boxes are and does anyone have any info of what else it could possibly be.

My 1.9 TDI had a problem a few months ago where it would turn over but failed to start. It turned out to be Relay 219 in the ECU box.

It costs under £30 from VW.

Is the ECU box on the driver side of the car at the top when you open the bonnet, the one with the umbrella on it?? Also were none of your lights comming on the dash when you were putting the ignition on?

I have just tried the relay 219 but it hasnt changed its still the same looks to be something else.

If you are not getting any dash lights and no indicators or wipers,
it could be the ignition switch

The headlights are working im not sure about the indicators or wipers havent checked them will check the tomorrow. By the ignition switch do you mean the actual barrel or is there a relay or fuse somewhere?

The ignition switch is activated by the key-barrel, but you get at it
