Not sure if a AVF is a 130. I have an A4 Avant 130 and is a AWX. It says 96kW on the inside cover of the handbook, maybe service book. When looking on the Elsawin (VW Audi workshop manual) it just lists the AWX as the PD 130. So I would double check. I'll check, if I remember, Elsawin for that engine code to see what it is.

Dosent the power get stamped on the sticker in the spare tyre well too? Have a nose at the car again & that will tell you. Also see what the DVLA says it is, just call them with the reg number.

    thanks everyone for advice
    DVLA think its 115bhp !!
Vin number and engine number tally up with Audi UK database and as far as they are concerned the car was built and left the factory as a 130bhp
Dealer has reluctantly agreed to send car to local Audi dealer so thier system can interrogate the engine and find the lack of power, heres hoping for a result

Regards the lack of power. If the previous owner just drove the car around town all the time, the engine may be carboned up and it might help to give it a sustained run at a fast speed in a lower gear to get rid of all the carbon deposits. Sounds extreme, but it works. !!

Checked it and yes AVF is a PD 130.

PS I'm with Midon, I did a trip down to London form Manchester and the car feels a little more spritely after a good run. But I do try to do a good run up to the redline every now and then. I have also disconnected the EGR as this will coke the engine if it doesn't do long runs.

What does the car feel like to drive? It should pull well from 1500rpm to 3000rpm and tail off over 3000rpm. Has it been serviced recently. A dirty filter, coked intake, dodgy MAF, partially blocked cat can reduce power. All apart from the MAF I don't think will put a engine check light on the dash.

Going to try a tank of Shell V Power diesel on my next tank, but that will be some weeks off as it doesn't use much fuel!! My Dad tried it and said he noticed a difference.

If it is 1.9tdi B6 you only have to options, 100 bhp or 130 bhp... but nothing better than the engine code and AVF is a 130 bhp engine, PD of course.

    Cheers, Jose.
