I'm about to install an Audi bluetooth module to my much modified 2003 A4 B6 Quattro Avant. I've already upgraded it to RNS-E and a MFSW. I've ordered a wiring loom from Ebay which should be here early next week. I've got a couple of questions.

Firstly, do I need a separate microphone? There seem to be lots on ebay for a B6/6 model however.... I took the courtesy light unit apart and there appears to be a small control module fitted that has 3 devices coming from it. I suspect that the rear most two are ultrasonic sensors for the alarm but the same module has another device that looks like a microphone going to an apeture on the drivers side of the courtesy unit. I can't see anywhere else that a microphone (such as the type available on ebay) could be plugged in. Any photographs would be appreciated.

Secondly, where's the best place to mount the bluetooth unit?? There's not a lot of space where the RNS-E sits.

You'll need a microphone. Does your car have BOSE? If so, then what you see in the courtesy light is for BOSE. it's no good for the phone.

You can put the BT unit behind the glovebox, it's tight but it will fit.

No, the car desn't have Bose sound, just the standard sub unit and speakers.

I checked out the carsystems.pl website (as recommended in another posting) and although they have some information as none of the images work I can't see what they're talking about. I had the small control module un-clipped from the courtesy unit and still can't see where a microphone could possibly plug into it. BTW, the third microphone seems to be hard wired in to the alarm unit.

When you see the microphone then it should be more obvious where it clips in. The mic is rectangluar, approx 1cmx2cm. Mine clipped in easily.

Ah, yes... I can see where it mounts but where is the electrical connection? I suspect I'll need to run an extension lead to the BT module!

There will be no connection present in your car. you will have to run wires all the way to the bluetooth unit.
