On 3G it works well and sounds awesome. I put Gladiator in and the surround sound (I think it's proper 5.1) work brilliantly. Normally it just plays Thomas the Tank Engine!!

Horatio - if you have 3G then you may wish to get someone with VCDS to enable the DVD player so it plays when you're driving although of course this is illegal so beware!

As has already been said if you have the 3G MMI you should be able to play no problem - is the DVD you put in a pre-recorded one or one that you've done yourself?

If it isn't a pre-recorded one I'd suggest putting one in to see if it works, DVD (and CD) players can be notoriously temperamental with discs that aren't the ones bought in the shops.
