    Question Accelerator pedal – 20-07-2007,01:38 PM
    Hi all... I've got a 1.6 MkIV Golf and the accelerator pedal keeps failing!!! I looked to see if the accelerator cable had snapped as that's what it felt like only to find that there isn't one!!
    So this car has a drive-by-wire system... Does this mean that I have a sensor that is failing??!?!? Can anyone give me any advice?? It's an intermittnet problem but a bad one in either case...

    hello mate ,yeh sure sounds like the same problem i had with my 99 Mkiv golf gt tdi,& it was the throttle sensor packin up,not too sure how much it cost me in end but was from a vw garage,hope this helps
