I've seen the tests on 5th Gear tv programme and know its a cheap option but was wondering if anyone has ran their car on veg oil? I know someone who ran their vw T4 on it but the engine blew during the winter months. I assume this was due to the viscosity and proporties of the fluid in the cold weather. I have a 1.9TDI quattro sport.

If it's a PD engine (which yours will be being post 2000) it's a definite no-no.

They don't like it up 'em!
Nothing to see here, move along..

Straight veg oil is a no-no but why not try experimenting with bio diesel, if you have the space to do it like i dont then its fairly easy (time consuming but easy) and cheap..
