Coolant sensor info pls !

Info needed pls ,

I have a AFN 1.9tdi 110bhp sharan !!

I want to replace my coolant sensor ( G62) as its giving a false reading with a meter , telling the ecu its warm when in fact the engine is cold !!!

ive called a few garages incl vw , and there appears some confusion on the part !!

My local car parts shop has a couple on their list , 1 is a black one with a yellow dot on it , and covers years 96 to 1999

the other is out of stock therefore cant describe it but covers years 1999 to 2006

My current sensor is black with a green ring around it !!!

any info be great , thx
