I was thinking of fitting 5000/6000K H7 HID conversion kit in my car.

I don't want to spend a fortune on it but don't want to get a cheap device that will cause canbus errors.

Does anyone have any experience with these kits?
    What's your recommendation?

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

I fitted H.I.D on my Passat 6000K, it's been a year now and it's much better then the crappy bulbs. Definitely recommend them. Search on google hids4u, they sell HID for £145 canbus.

BTW, are you happy with 8000K temp? Are they not too blue?

The second ones. You'll need 35w H7 and then the choosen colour temp, bearing in mind standard bixenons are 4300k. The bluer you go the cheaper they look in my opinion.

As for all the legality issue, there still good, my brothers polo passed MOT yesterday with HIDs in both main and fog lights.

    Thanks guys, much appreciated.

I am tempted to get these from eBay (user hids-direct, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-PASSAT-...item335576b568).

I hope they won't pop any errors on the dash.

I remember reading somewhere on the Internet that I will need to change few settings via VCDS, is that right?
