    I have just pressed the check button that is adjacent to the trip reset button. Does anybody know what the subsequent symbols mean as mine has a large red oil can and brake symbol and smaller symbols in yellow mainly. The manual is not at all clear thanks.

    I believe this is just to show you the checks that it's going through. If the oil level & brakes did require topping up or changing, these would beep & flash up in the DIS screen between speedo & rev counter every time you turn the ignition on. That's what I've taken it to mean anyway.
