Have noticed a ticking noise coming from around the cam cover / oil filler cap, on tickover (gets faster as you rev the engine ) even when engine is cold or at normal temprature. When I remove the oil filler cap it gets louder. Its an A4 B7 170 2.0 tdi (57) plate 2008 with 82700 miles on the clock. Has anyone any idea's what it could be.

sounds like a noisy hydraulic lifter - if it is, then should be nothing to worry about - check that you're using the right viscosity oil.
