Allroad 3lt 2006 seems to tick over at about 900rpm should this be nearer 500rpm?

Your thoughts and ideas always appreciated!!

Yep my 2008 roughly idles at 900rpm. On very cold days it would tickover just a smudge above 1k rpm.

Edited - 800 rpm when warm, slightly higher when cold.

    Hi again.

Have checked this morning and it is fact closer to 800 than 900. Don't know if that is because I've just had a remap, but looks about right now I start to think more about it.

    Hi Piotrek,

Is that in gear (D) or in neutral (P or N)?

    Hi,

Have checked on my way home and it's 800 when it's in gear or or neutral/park.

Hi Piotrek, you are right man, I checked mine too and it's 800 rpm in gear (D) and very similar in N/P.

Chris - is yours definitely at 900 rpm?

I'm pretty sure it's nearer the 900rpm mark when in park.

Will check tomorrow afternoon as the wife has the car away Tonight and tomorrow morning.

Will get some exact figures from vcds too.
