I have an A4 shed for a runaround. I fixed the wipers by changing the relay, however now the fuel flap wont open. The actual flap, not sure about the filler cap (Haven't got that far).

I know it locks when the car is locked, but my central locking hasn't worked for ages and the fuel flap always opened when the drivers door was unlocked ( I think??, either that or it was always open). However now it is closed, and I don't have much diesel left. Any ideas on how to solve it without just breaking off the flap, and will the filler cap inside be locked?

Its a 1997 A4 TDi quattro if that helps.

Normally for VAG cars, if you remove the trim in the boot behind the fuel filler, you'll find a manual release cord, or similar.
Nothing to see here, move along..

There's a little emergency lever you can pull from inside the boot. Its part of
the flap lock, so you need to get in behind the boot-lining
