    Hi all,

I am thinking of installing a rear view camera on my A4 b7. I know that some folks have already fitted a Q7 camera on A4 and have placed it where the boot key lock is. I also know that some sites are selling it. However I haven't yet found a specialist who installs the cameras. I have seen a thread that explains in detail how it's done but knowing how good i am with these things I will probably wreck the car.

So has anybody in South East done it themselves? Can somebody do it for me? Those that have installed rear view camera already, where did you buy the parts from? How much?

Or even better, is anybody up for installing a rear view camera on theirs A4. Perhaps we can get together and do it on the spot.

Do you also know if the camera has the beeps (if less than 20 cm distrance) too? I have been told that they do that too/

    Cheers

Fitting the Q7 camera won't give you any beeps. You need the reversing sensors for that.

It's easy to do, just takes a bit of time. All the costs ate detailed in the install thread I posted on here and on auidforum.us

Isaac, in my post i was referring to your link. Installing the camera and connecting it to the RNS-E is not a problem. However, passing the cable through is a scare to me. I will look at your guidance again though.

By the way, does it turn on automatically once the reverse gear is switched?

Yes it will auto switch when you select reverse gear, as long as it's coded correctly with VCDS.
