Has anyone got a Match with leather seats? If so are they identical to the cloth seats in size construction etc?
I like leather seats and want to order a Golf Match DSG with leather seats but can't find one to look at/test! I will be happy as long as they are identical to the cloth seats and NOT "Sport" seats with, to me, uncomfortably firmer padding with bigger bolsters etc.

I have driven a Match with leather seats and would say they are more like the seats in a GT than a standard Match. The lumbar adjustment was far more effective and I felt the seat felt firmer. But seats are a very personal thing and you should really try them yourself before shelling out £1965 for them! Bye the way, Benfield of Dumfries may still have a new TDi Golf with leather which I saw about 2 weeks ago, although a long way for you to travel.

I was thinking of getting leather seats.
However, the shape of the rear seats is not the same. The sides stick up more, which meant 3 kids seats didn't fit in as well.
I think the front seats also have a different shape.
You can tell a bit from brochure and photos.

I hate the seat in the Golf. Really uncomfortable compared with my old CR-V and Accord. The horrible Golf seats really make me enjoy driving my other car!
Golf Match 2.0 tdi 140 Bluemotion tech, fogs, folding mirrors. Reversing camera didn't make it, so enjoying DAB.

Other motor is a Nissan Pathfinder.

All leather in Golfs are sports seats... like yourself I found them too hard and didnt like the bolsters, so went with cloth for the comfort seats

I've got a GT with black leather seats - now 18 months old. They are really comfortable and supportive and make the interior look special - go for it!

My wife has a back problem and needs a relatively soft yet supportive seat. Big bolsters for either back or thighs are a no-no because of the pressure. We currently have a Skoda Octavia with leather seats and they are fine - but seat is only moderately shaped and is relatively soft while being supportive. For some reason she finds leather seats much more comfortable - probably because they allow a bit more "wriggle & slide" and doesn't keep her in one position!

Leather seats are a bete noir of mine but each to their own, I suppose. The Golf I sat in, with leather seats in the showroom two years ago before I ordered mine, was noticeable by the fact that there seemed to be less legroom for me, being rather on the tall side. My Golf with cloth seats, on the other hand seemed more comfortable although I am not convinced about the amount of lumbar support available and which seems too low down, as well. 7/10 for my seats, then.

I must agree about the lumbar adjustment on the "Comfort" seat. Too low and not enough adjustment. This seems to affect all VW Group cars that use the lever lumbar adjustment. The former wheel was much better, and I think this change to a simple lever arrangement is one of VW's cost cutting measures sadly.

I'm the opposite, I love leather seats.
There is something luxurious and comfortable about leather.
For me, the Golf was all about downsizing and saving money, so cloth made sense.
Plus the issue with fitting 3 kids seats in the back.
One day I hope I can afford a leather clad company car again, as well as a big family car...
