Hi I have 94 audi 80 2.6 convertible. Battery drains within an hour of engine being switched off. Starts with jump leads no problem. Voltage reading on meter shows battery fine. I'm thinking distributor or altinator. When I try to start it there is next to nothing then attach jump leads and it fires no problem. Can be switched off and starts again in short time frame. Over an hour and nothing.

You need to do some basic multimeter tests. Measure voltage at battery with engine running ( 2000rpm) with all the lights , heater etc on. Voltage should be excess of 14V. If its a lot less then its probably the alternator. Halfords will do a free battery load test. Also a current drain measurement with engine off might reveal an drain some where.
