No Power A6 2.0 TDI Avant S Line Auto 2006

Car will rev up to no more than 2500rpm, has no power will go along the road at about 20mph if your lucky. The oil light is on and the glow plug light is flashing. So anyone know what is the problem how do I get it fixed.

There has been some kind of engine fault and your car has gone into limp home mode. If it is doing this continually you will need to get someone to read the fault code and assess whats wrong and take it from there. I had similar thing happen to my 2.0tdi Passat and when I restarted the car (after checking the engine) it was fine I had it checked by Pro Tune who could find no fault with the vehicle and surmised it could have been a sensor reading faulty - has been fine ever since.

check the VAC lines to and from the EGR valve, look for splits - as had one on mine go and engine light on - no power, also had the EGR valve fail - replaced - back to normal (this was on the 30DTi - but all the TDI's have these).
