Buying a kit to replace the front suspension (control arms, TREs, sway link etc.) I'm wondering is there anything else I should be replacing I don't want to spend much money but dont want to half do the job either.

I was thinking new shock will make a big difference all round but not sure if springs will. Is it worth buying new springs what effect will this have on the handling.

I will be replacing the sway bar links but does the sway bar need to be replaced. Again im wondering what effect this will have on the handling.

Do I need to do anything to the rear suspension?

forgot to mention its a 01 AWX B5.5 FWD

I would replace the dampers, but just inspect the springs for excess rust (which can make them snap).
You could do CV boots if they look old.

Do they contribute much to the feel of the suspension? I don't want to go to the trouble of replacing nearly everything else and not doing them but as with most people I'm on a budget and don't want to waste money where it's not necessary.

Wheel bearings: Front: £24.50 Vetech £36.50 SNR
    Rear: £66.00 SKF
Track arms: Lower Front: £61.50 Lemforder
    Lower Rear: £66.00 Lemforder
    Upper Front: £39.00 Lemforder
    Upper Rear: £42.50 Lemforder
    Tie rod: Inner: £18.50 Lemforder
    Outer: £23.50 Lemforder
Anti roll bar link: £17.45 Lemforder
    Rear hub bushes: £34.50 Lemforder
    Shock Abs: Front: £39.50 Boge
    Rear: £39.50 Boge
    Coil springs: Front: £38.40 Lesjofors
    Rear: £34.00 Lesjofors

This is what I'm looking at at the moment can anyone comment on the manufactures I know lemforder are quaility parts but not sure about the rest I have heard of boge. Is there anything else you would add. Do these prices look ok or does anyone know of a kit that would come in cheaper however I have at least a 20% discount on the above parts and no other costs on top.

Just one point, don't use the Vetech wheel bearings, they won't last long. Replaced both of mine with these and ended up doing them again after 12-18 months. Get SKF or OEM ones, it'll save you money in the long run.
