    hi got a 2.0 passat se 2004 -

Last 2 days it has suddenly lost all power on 2 occasions and slowed to a halt as if there is no drive-

a similar feeling to running out of petrol

I can still drive in 1st gear to side of road.

turning the engine off/on allowed me to drive off ok

    any ideas?

as a postscript the abs/brake fluid light came on and disappeared after restarting

    Could be the brake switch.
Try left foot braking with power on and see if you get the same symptoms.
Get the ECU codes read to check.

Put in on to computer and flags up that the ABS sensor on ABS pump is faulty.
They suggested replacing the pump as well( £900!!!) - getting a 2nd opinion but anyone know if just replacing sensor has worked ??
