New B6 owner, Hello :-)

Just thought I would poke my head around the door to say hello.

I'm a week into my new (to me) 2007 Passat TDI 140 SE DSG.


I have to say that up to now, it feels like an absolute privilege every time I drive it.

I do have a bit of VAG history though, from most recent backwards.

VW Golf GTI 8V MK3 1996 (torquey, better than it was meant to be.)
Audi A4 1.6 1996 (an A4 1.6 ? slowwww)
VW Golf Cabrio MKIV 2000 (wobbly, scuttle shake tastic, converted it to LPG)
Audi 80 1.9 TDI. 1994 magnificent old warhorse)
VW Passat 1.9TDI SE 4motion. 2003 (brand new leased car in 1993)
VW Golf GTI MK1 1.6 1980 (Why oh why is it no longer here...)
VW Jetta MK1 1.3 1982 (it was an old Jetta in light blue zzz...)

There has been other stuff, but that's the VAG stuff. As I said above, the Passat just seems wonderful at this point in time.
I hope to be on of those people who never feels the need to comment on stuff because it just works.

Currently being tempted by one of the China sourced sat nav units.

I'll second this - there are those here that have an incredible amount of knowledge, and we are lucky that they share it with us.

PS - I'd highly recommend one of the sat-nav units from ebay/China, I'm very happy with mine

Thanks for the welcome chaps.
You'll see that I actually joined in 2007, that was when I had the Golf Cab, a car I had expected to love but never really did.
With this Passat though, I quite specifically chose it based on the TDI, the DSG, everything that makes it what it is.
As I said above, this is my second Passat, the first being the new TDI 130 4Motion B5.5 mentioned above.
That was pretty special, but this feels evey bit as special in a different way.

Glad you recommend the Sat Nav.
I do like the idea of soemthing in rather than on dash.
Need to see if I can sort something out.
