Hi all, I had problems with my esp light, a new brake light switch solved this problem, I had my wheel alignment done last week, after this the esp light came on and stayed on!

I have read else where that this may be due to the steering wheel being slightly out and this means that the car will switch the esp off!

Has anyone heard of this? And is this easily solved as the light is annoying me

    Thanks in advance.

I would take it back to the company you got the alignment done at and explain what has happend first of all. The Steering Angle Sensor is out of alignment. Be careful they dont just re-align the steering wheel !

The steering wheel must be straight.

Thanks for the advice guys. How do I word it to the Alignment people? Do I just tell then that the wheel isn't straight(which just realised it isnt) or do I mention the steering angle sensor. I'm not too mechanically minded, so dont want to mention stuff that I dont know about!

If they fix it will the light go off, or do I need to get it turned off? Thanks again for your help.

Mention the Steering wheel is out of alignment in the straight-ahead position since the Tracking was adjusted. And because of this, the ESP light is now illuminated due to Steering Angle sensor detecting this.
