    Hi

I have a 2007 SEL with the factory ipod adapter in place of the CD changer in the glovebox. It has not worked since I bought the car 6 months ago. I have now had the time to remove the headunit and the glovebox to check it is all plugged in ok, and it is, but still no joy. I have even restored the ipod as it advises in the VW manual but still no joy.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    thanks

I've had this issue before I in our old Touran worked well for years but my son being clever plugged in his newer ipod touch into it without a voltage adapter and said look it works before it gave up the ghost shortly afterwards. In the end I ended up buying another one off ebay for about £30 and just replacing the box control box from the kit.

I had one fitted when I bought the car in October 08. Worked for about a year, then packed in. Got it replaced FOC as it had a warranty.

what Ipod are you plugguing in? only supports from memory Ipod classics and older Nano's. when plugging in the ipod do you get the VW display saying ok to disconnect. if you have a single CD head unit you may need to press the CD button twice to toggle from single to multiplayer.

remeber to get 6 CD's you need 5 playlists and in my expreience I just caller them 1-xxx, 2-xxx, 3-xxx,4-xxx,5-xxx where xxx is a name of artist album name or whatever you want to call it. CD 6 is play all on the ipod.

Hi, same thing happened to me so I ditched the VW iPod adapter & bought an Xcarlink adapter which has mutiple methods of playing didital music + your iPod through the Aux in jack socket. I am delighted with mine & fitted it myself in under an hour and it effectively gives you a 6 CD changer but with much greater data capacity than you would get on 6 CD's - see link

I have one of these in my SE, it's rubbish and it really upsets the iPod. Mine has never been the same since I plugged it into the VW. You're best advised to ditch it.
