hi there the central locking has started playing up it works now and then with the key fob but 9 times out of ten it dosn't work.I have changed the batt in fob and still no joy.It works ok from the button on inner door panel fine. Was told to change the relay first but according to vw dealer it dosn't have one.Would rather sought this myself as skint and dealer charges a fortune any ideas??

Have you tried sychronising the key? i have been having trouble with my Mk4 Bora (read link: https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...7344#post57344). It's in the instruction booklet but if you can't find it here's how you do it:
    1. Hold down either the lock or unlock button on the key for 1 second.
    2. Put the key in the keyhole and turn it the in the function as you did with the remote.
    3. I'm pretty sure that's it, the key car will re-construct a security access code with the key and sychro is complete!

    Hope this helps.

I also have a similar problem where the remote will work most of the time then will just stop working,
I then have to use the key which works fine.
After a while the remote will be work again and then a few hours later will stop working again.
Just had a new key and remote(£147) from my vw dealer but the problem is still the same.
Any ideas what the problem might be guys ?

    THANKS
